Abstract

1383718 Surface treating particles with amines fatty acids or salts thereof ICI AUSTRALIA Ltd 27 June 1973 [28 June 1972] 30511/73 Heading C1A Particles of ammonium salts, clay, alkali or alkaline earth metal salts are surface treated with an anticaking material by mixing the particles with an amine or fatty acid or derivative thereof in aqueous emulsion, suspension or dispersion and removing at least part of the water and recovering the thus formed particles, coated with the amine or fatty acid anticaking material. In the examples ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulphate and ball clay are sprayed with compositions comprising octadecylamine, C 16 alkylamines, C 16-18 alkenylamines and stearic acid plus surfactants and allowed to dry.
