Abstract

1383000 Label applicator MONARCH MARKING SYSTEMS Inc 31 Dec 1971 [8 Jan 1971] 40124/74 Divided out of 1382999 Heading B8F The subject matter of this Specification is substantially the same as that described in Specification 1,382,999 except that the claims and additional disclosure relate to a hand held label printing and applying machine which includes a drive mechanism, comprising a rotary solenoid 226 and return spring 236, for automatically printing and feeding one label in response to the back-up pressure exerted by the surface to which the label is applied. The solenoid 226 is rotated clockwise, to operate a label printing arrangement, when pivoted arms 230, mounting the applicator 228, close a switch 234. When the applicator 228 is withdrawn from the labelled article, the switch 234 opens and the return spring operates the label feed mechanism.
