Abstract

1382254 Nebulizers PYE Ltd 27 Jan 1972 [5 Feb 1971] 4031 71 Heading B2F [Also in Division G2] A flame spectrometry apparatus includes a nebulizer assembly having a cloud chamber 22, a nozzle 21 directed into the chamber 22 and having means for supplying liquid analytical medium and gaseous propellant thereto, a displaceable assembly including an impact sphere 25 mounted on a support rod 26, an adjustment knob 42, and locating means in the form of a spring loaded insert 51 acting against a flat portion 50 of a control rod 40 by which the sphere 25 can either be-located axially of nozzle 21 or swung away therefrom by rotation of knob 42. A further screwthreaded adjusting cap 48 causes on rotation axial movement of sphere 25 by acting on rod 40 at clip 47. The sample is delivered through conduit 29 where it is mixed with air. A fuel gas/air mixture enters via the annular aperture 34.
