Abstract

1381314 Gymnastic apparatus O EICHENAUER 23 Oct 1972 [17 Nov 1971 24 Feb 1972] 48747/72 Heading A6M [Also in Division F2] Gymnastic apparatus comprises a suspension bar 3 which is dismountably connected to a surface 1 by a mounting having bayonet-type connector components 2, 7. As shown, the suspension bar 3 has a bayonet coupling plug 7 having slots 8, 9 and a locking slot 10 which cooperate with a transverse pin 14 on a polyamide insert 12 received in a housing 11 of the connector 2. The connector 2 has a flange 16 with screw holes 17 for connection to a ceiling 1. In another embodiment, the insert 12 is replaced by a compressible insert (22) (Figs. 5, 6, not shown). A thrust bearing (20) is seated on this insert, the upper part (23) carrying the pin 14. When an operator applies his weight to the suspension bar 3, the thrust bearing portions depress the compressible insert (22) to pull the upper portion (23) of the bearing away from a friction block (24) held in the connector housing 11 by locking pins (26). In alternative arrangements, the flange 16 and screw holes 17 are replaced by wall mounting anchor members (27) (Figs. 7-10, not shown).
