Abstract

1,079,365. Mounting electrical equipment. SMITHS INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 8, 1965 [Oct. 9, 1964], No. 41283/64. Heading H1R. A tray for use in mounting a case containing electrical equipment comprises a base section separated by a rigid honeycomb structure from the base of a guide-way provided in the tray for receiving the said case. The invention is described with reference to a tray designed for use with an electrical equipment case, particularly for use in aircraft, of the kind described and claimed in Specification 1,079,366. As shown, Figs. 2, 4, a tray 2, which is bolted to rails (not shown) supported in the aircraft by antivibration mountings, comprises two interfitting channel-members 40, 41 of Al-alloy and a vertical junction-panel 10 carrying socket connectors 9 and locating pegs 18, 19 which co-operate with plug connectors and apertures (not shown) in an equipment case 8. The space between the bases 42, 43 of members 40, 41 is occupied by a honeycomb structure 46 of Alalloy strip which permits the passage of air through perforations 48 in both bases. A locking and jacking device 5 pivoted beneath the tray engages a bracket 6 on a front panel 7 of equipment case 8 to secure the latter to the tray.
