Abstract

1381195 Yarn end catchers; cleaning machines HOWORTH AIR CONDITIONING Ltd 3 Sept 1973 [12 Sept 1972] 42214/72 Headings D1D and D1F In a yarn texturising or like machine, a suction duct 6, spanning all texturising stations to receive yarn ends during doffing or threading-up without stopping the machine, comprises open ended tubes 11 each arranged, as in a boss 12 having a V-notch for entraining ends, at an acute angle e.g. 10-30‹, to the duct to provide access for the ends which are thereby injected thereinto at high speed. The duct also includes suction slots 13, closable by sliding sleeves 14, to receive loose waste yarn. The duct or ducts e.g. one at each side of the machine, is/are connected at one end to a filter chamber or box housing a motor driven suction fan, Fig. 2 (not shown).
