Abstract

1432477 Cleaning apparatus for textile machines FRATELLI MARZOLI & C SpA 31 July 1973 [10 Aug 1972] 36449/73 Heading F4X [Also in Division D1] Apparatus for removing dust, fibrils &c. generated when yarn 1 is passed through the drawing system of a spinning preparation machine comprises rotating blowing means for supplying and directing jets of pressurized air against the members of the drawing system and suction means for removing airborn dust &c. from the drawing zone. As shown the drawing system includes drawing rollers 2 and 4, pressure rollers 5 and 7, and upper and lower belts 9 and 10, the lower belt 10 being kept taut by a tensioning device 11 supported by a bracket 12 carried by a hollow bar 13 which is rotated with the drawing roller 2 via gears (22, 23, Fig. 4, not shown) and a chain (25). The hollow bar 13 is provided with a plurality of holes through which pressurized air can leave in the form of jets, the bar 13 being supplied with air under pressure from a fan (34, Fig. 5) via a header channel 17, flexible pipes 18, and a closed box 19 which is traversed by the hollow bar 13 and communicates therewith via holes 20. Airborn dust &c. is removed from the vicinity of the drawing zone through a funnel 28 extending over the entire length of the machine, the funnel communicating via a slot 27 with a channel 26 which in turn communicates with a pair of motor driven suction fans (30, Fig. 1) via ducts 29. The channel 26 is also provided with suction ports 35 facing the direction of yarn or roving leaving the drawing zone and through which any broken yarn is sucked and removed. Bars 14 and 15 brought intermittently into contact with the surfaces of the drawing rollers 2 and 4 serve to mechanically remove fibrils adhering to the roller surfaces.
