Abstract

1380731 Garment pressing WESTON LAUNDRY MACHINE CO Ltd 6 Sept 1972 [9 Sept 1971] 42225/71 Heading D1A [Also in Division F4] A hanger loading arrangement for a garment pressing or finishing machine in which a garment is supported on a back 2 carrying a separate hanger 34 comprises a rail or arm 28 (Fig. 5) which is pivotable between a lowered position when a hanger may slide down the rail to a guide 38 and to the back 2 and a raised position when a single hanger is fed onto the rail 28. For unloading a rail 8 is provided having a nose 22 which is adapted to engage a hanger on the buck when extended, the rail 8 being pivotable by a pneumatic ram 10 and having an auxiliary rail 26 onto which an unloaded hanger 34 slides when the rail 8 is raised. The pivot end of the rail 28 has a cam surface 30 with a flat 32 which engages a single hanger from a storage rail 36 when the rail 28 is raised. In use of the machine (Fig. 1) a finished garment is unloaded and a fresh empty hanger supplied at station D; a garment is fitted to the buck at station A; at stations B and C the finishing operation including supply of steam then air at station B and supply of further air at station C is carried out; and then at station D again the hanger 34 is removed.
