Abstract

1,154,451. Tools for applying ring travellers. EADIE BROS..& CO. Ltd. 7 March, 1967 [15 March, 1966], No. 11198/66. Heading D1F. A tool for applying travellers individually to the rings of ring spinning and twisting frames from a magazine carrying a plurality of travellers, comprises a base plate, a first handle extending therefrom, a two armed lever mounted thereon with a second handle extending from or forming one arm, a traveller applying member slidable over the base plate and pivotally connected to the other arm of the two armed lever, a lateral projection on the traveller applying member and a cam shaped track on the base plate with which the projection engages causing the traveller applying member, when the two handles are pressed together, to move in a path for locating a traveller from the magazine in relation to the ring and then applying it thereto. The traveller may engage a second cam surface on the base plate after it has been located adjacent to the ring to cause the traveller to move downwardly during the final movement of the travelling applying member.
