Abstract

137,755. Magidson, F. July 3, 1919. Folding cradles.-A cradle which can be rocked automatically comprises a stand and a body, each adapted to be dismembered for transport, means for suspending the body from the stand, and means on the stand for rocking the body. The body comprises easily detachable head and foot members 1, 2, side members 3, and bottom 4, and is suspended by members 8 from the stand formed of end members 5, 6 and. a connecting-member 7. The part 7 contains the cradle-swinging mechanism, and is secured to flat sections S of the stand. The cradle-swinging mechanism comprises a spring 29 wound on a core having independently movable sections 22, 24, 27 with washers 30 between them, and an escapement mechanism whereby the arm 12 is rocked. The movement of this arm is communicated to the cradle through the medium of the rod 11 and parallel links 10.
