Abstract

Spring devices.-In a motor-cycle spring fork, a wheel-carrying member A, connected bv links C to the lower end of the steering-column Z, is controlled by one or more leaf springs F, which are attached at their lower ends to the member A, at their upper ends to shackles J carried by the upper end of the column, and at an intermediate point to an anchorage E<2> carried by the lower end of the column, such springs supporting between their upper end and the intermediate point secondary links M attached to the upper extremities of the wheel-carrying member. The anchorage preferably comprises a block pivotally mounted between arms E projecting from the lower end of the column. According to the Provisional Specification, the wheelcarrying member may be connected to the column by parallel links so that it has a vertical motion only, such motion being controlled by one or more bow springs which are arranged substantially parallel to the line of movement of the member and are attached at one end to the member and at the other end to an anchorage fixed to the column.
