Abstract

129,162. Collins, O. Aug. 28, 1918. Spring devices. -In spring forks for motor and other cycles wherein the wheel-carrying frame or fork proper F is connected by links C<1>, C<2> to the upper and lower ends of the steering-stem, additional steering- columns E, provided one on each side of the steering-stem, are fitted between their ends with extending arms or a bridge D forming abutments for main and recoil springs in tension or compression. As shown in Fig. 1, compression springs A, B bear at their outer ends upon the fork. Compression springs may, however, be arranged upon a rod extending up from the cross-piece G of the fork and through the bridge D, the rod being provided at its upper end with a cap and nuts for adjustment purposes.
