Abstract

1376982 Floating offshore structures INGENIEURSBUREAU MARCON (MARINE CONSULTANTS) BV 14 April 1972 [19 April 1971] 17322/72 Heading E1H A floating platform comprises vertical columns 3 supporting a work deck and connected to a joint 8 adjacent the deck level via upper and lower bracings 16, 22, the upper bracings 16 being substantially horizontal, the lower bracings 22 being inclined and connected to the bottoms of the columns 3 just above floodable floats 1. The central member of joint 8 may be a closed box-like member of polygonal shape or may be in the form of polygonally-shaped ring. A substantially vertical member 31 extends from joint 8 to a lower joint 33 from which bracings 36 extend horizontally to the lower end of each column 3. Further horizontal and inclined bracings 19, 27 extend between adjacent columns.
