Abstract

1375453 Railway points ETABS TOURTELLIER SA 23 Aug 1972 [12 Oct 1971] 39274/72 Heading B7L A monorail point comprises a straight section 6 adapted to be pivoted about a vertical axis 28 to the main track 2 and a forked section 5 consisting of straight and curved parts 7 and 8, section 6 and parts 7 and 8 each consisting of a pair of laterally spaced side walls having inwardly curved lower ends forming running tracks, the adjacent walls of parts 7 and 8 being cut away so that at the inlet end of section 5 there are only three track 18, 26 and 15. At the free end of section 6 a roller rotatable about a horizontal axis 32 runs in a guide 33 fixed to section 5. Reinforcing plates 35 are provided on the outer surfaces of the curved parts of the side walls together with a further reinforcing plate 27. In a double throw embodiment of the point a further curved part is arranged on the opposite side of part 7 to part 8.
