1471698 Elevated railways AERAIL SOC D'ETUDES ET DE REPRESENTATIONS INDUSTRIELLES MECANIQUES ET METALLURGIQUES 11 June 1974 [12 June 1973] 25741/74 Heading B7L A monorail 1 comprises spaced members la bent inwardly at their lower ends to provide support surfaces 1b and tracks 2 having flanges 2b whereby they are attached to the members la by spaced keys 3, there being a clearance between the free ends of flanges 2b and the opposed faces of the keys to permit lateral expansion of the tracks. The tracks are formed from a steel alloy and have flanges 2a covering the free ends of supports 1b. A plurality of rails 1 and tracks 2 are mounted end-to-end with the joints between adjacent rails staggered in relation to those between adjacent tracks (Fig. 2, not shown).
