Abstract

1374584 Laminates JACKSONS CONVERTERS Ltd 3 Jan 1972 [8 Jan 1971] 1092/71 Heading B5N [Also in Division B6] A lining panel for lining a curved surface, comprises a base sheet 1 of naturally occurring cellulosic fibrous material, e.g. hardboard or millboard moulded to the desired contour, a layer 2 of heat and/or sound insulating material bonded to one face of the base sheet, and a layer 3 of finishing material bonded to the other face of the base sheet, the layers being applied to the base sheet after the base sheet has been moulded to the desired contour. The insulating layer is preferably a mineral, e.g. glass fibre mat; alternatively, it may comprise kersey felt, hair felt, needle loom felt, polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane foam, cork or a composite cork material. The layer of finishing material provides a decorative and/or resilient layer on the outside surface of the panel, preferably has a resilient backing and may be brushed nylon backed with a polyurethane foam, coated woven cloth or scrim, e.g. a scrim coated with polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl chloride sheet backed with foam, a foam having an integral skin or paint.
