Abstract

1373293 Acid tin electro-plating baths M & T CHEMICALS Inc 20 June 1972 [1 July 1971] 28849/72 Heading C7B [Also in Division C2] Primary brighteners for acid tin-plating baths comprise the dione/aldehyde condensation products of hexan -2,5-dione and an aldehyde selected from 5-membered heterocyclic ring aldehydes (e.g. furfural), 6-membered homocyclic ring aldehydes (e.g. benzaldehyde) and condensed aromatic ring aldehydes. Specified bath compositions comprise stannous ions, sulphate ions, glacial acrylic acid and at least one non-ionic, water-soluble alkoxylated wetting agent in addition to the present primary brighteners.
