1370200 Driving spindles BARMAG BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK AG 3 March 1972 [4 March 1971 (2)] 16414/74 Divided out of 1370199 Heading DID [Also in Division F2J A textile machine has a gear unit providing stepped speed ratios established by e.g. sixteen selector clutches K1..K16, controlled by a punched, embossed or marked card 1, fed to the machine after manual selection from a pack in accordance with a visual indication on the card corresponding to the desired rotational speed (e.g. 250 in a. range 240-260 RPM) or textile property, the card information for the machine being in the form of a binary code in two rows 3 read by a reader on the machine and controlling energisation of clutch-actuating relays KR1 &c., N coding of clutches on the same shaft (e.g. K1/K2; K3/K4/K5 &c) as indicated in row 2 provides an interlock preventing simultaneous engagement of more than one clutch on the same shaft. The clutch relays KR1 &c are energised by closing and opening respectively self holding contacts Sl &c and interlock contacts V1 &c, by auxiliary relays HR1 &c, energised through AND circuits. The engaged clutches are released only by depressing a key A.
