Abstract

1368007 Gas-fired space heaters R BUNS 15 Dec 1972 [18 Dec 1971] 58105/72 Heading F4S In a gas-fired space heater comprising a pair of stamped sheet metal parts defining an elongate horizontal combustion chamber 2 below a ribbed heat exchanger 1, the combustion chamber 2, which is closed at one end by a plate 3 and communicates at its other end via a transition zone 4 with an integrally formed secondary air supply duct 5, contains a burner tube 13 which is inclined downwardly toward the air supply duct 5. The gas supply end of the burner tube 13 fits over a horizontally extending pipe length 12 of a nozzle head 11, the tube 13 being secured thereto by means of a screw 14. The other end of the burner tube 13 is closed, is provided with a shield plate 17 and has a downwardly projecting spike 15 which fits into a channel 16. The upper portion of the transition zone 4 between the combustion chamber and the supply duct 5 is closed by a baffle plate in the form of a U-shaped sheet metal strip 7.
