Abstract

136,680. Walker, J. R. Jan. 10, 1919. Pistons, arrangement of; valves, arrangement of.-Two single-acting pistons connected by a web 6 are actuated by a lever 9 which passes through the pump casing, and the inlet and outlet valves 20, 21 are arranged to hang vertically over their ports as shown, being loaded by weights 23. These devices are applied to pumps of the type in which a central barrel 1 has open-ended passages 4, 5 at each side, with end covers secured by long bolts 13 and containing passages 18, 19. Where the passages 4, 5 are below and above the pump barrel respectively, as shown in Fig. 5, the actuating-lever 9 ends in a stirrup 31 connected to the web by links 33.
