Abstract

1366767 Bottle and can carriers/cartons AUGUST STORCK GmbH 15 March 1972 [16 March 1971 2 March 1972] 12017/72 Headings B8C and B8P A packing and display carton has two face panels 4 connected to double walled flanges, the inner walls 6 of which are narrower than the outer walls 5 thereof so as to produce an inward bias on the flanges to grip a stack of articles in the carton, the inner walls 6 also being connected to flaps 7 bonded to the inside of the face panels 4. The flanges are contiguous with wall portions 14, 15 which, together with the face panels 4, carry flaps (16-17, Figs. 4 and 5) for forming a bottom closure for the carton. Tabs 23, 24 are pushed inwardly from the face panels 4 to provide a corner support for the stack of articles, a removable support 29 also being inserted through a slit 22 in the wall portion 14. In a second embodiment, Fig. 9, the inner walls 6, of double wall flanges connected to a single face panel 4, are cut out at 31 to support the rims 32 of jars 28.
