Abstract

136,657. Elliot, W. A. Dec. 23, 1918. Drilling-machines.-A universally-mounted rotary tool-spindle 14 is mounted in a carriage 7 adjustable along an arm 5 projecting radially from a bracket 1 which is adjustable around a vertical axis on a stand 2, or a spindle 14 and the arm 5 may be adjustable together in the bracket; the arm 5 is adjustably and completely rotatable in the bracket 1 to enable the cutter to be brought to any desired angular position, and a motor, such as an electric motor 17, is mounted on the carriage 7 and geared to the spindle 14. The carriage may be provided with rollers 12 bearing on the bar 5, and with a handle 22 for its manipulation. A tool may be mounted on each end of the spindle, the second tool being for sawing, grooving, dadoing, grinding, &c.
