524,732. Milling, boring and planing &c. machines. ALEXANDER, G. H, March 8, 1939, No. 7512. Convention date, March 16, 1938. [Class 83 (iii)] A machine tool for boring, milling, planing and like operations, comprises a column b rotatable about its vertical axis and carrying a slide 10 fitted with an angularly adjustable member C in which slides a cylindrical member 8 supporting a motor 3 driving the tool spindle or spindles. The work e is carried on a rotatable platform 15 supported on compound slides 13, 14, on the base a. The column is rotated about its axis by a hand wheel 1 and locked by a handle 2. The motor 3 may operate two coaxial spindles 4, 5 having rotary and reciprocatory movements respectively, control being effected from a lever 6. The part 8 may be moved axially by a handwheel 9 and the slide 10 may be moved vertically on the column either by a motor 12 or a hand wheel 11.
