Abstract

136,462. Bailey, A. G. May 23, 1919. Feed, regulating; forcing gas into liquid; valves.-In aerating-apparatus in which liquid is supplied by a pump driven by an automatically-controlled electric motor, the gas is supplied to the bottom of the aerating- vessel, which is provided with a hand-operated relief valve, so that if the motor breaks down, the apparatus can be worked by hand. Liquid is supplied to the vessel a by a pump j driven by an electric motor, the supply of current to which is controlled by a switch k connected to a lever p carrying a counterweight q and a movable vessel o connected to the vessel a below and above the liquid level by flexible pipes m, n. Gas is admitted to the vessel a by a pipe c terminating in a fitting with radial holes. A gas-relief valve e is provided which is normally kept closed by a weight s, but can be opened by hand, when liquid enters the vessel a through the pump valves under the pressure in the main.
