Abstract

1364253 Blanks for containers AIRFIX INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Dec 1971 [11 Jan 1971 4 May 1971] 1221/71 and 13068/71 Heading B8P [Also in Division B5] A container is made from a blank having base panels 1, side panels 2 and interconnecting skirt and partition panels 4, 5 which can be folded downwardly and upwardly respectively out of the plane of the base and secured in folded relationship by injection moulded seams. The panels 4, 5 are shorter than the base panels 1 so that when folded cruciform section openings are formed between adjacent base panels and T-section openings are formed between adjacent base and side panels, these openings having securing seams (6) injection moulded into them to hold the container erect. In modifications, the partition panels 5 or the skirt panels 4 may be omitted; the panels 4, 5 may be of the same length as the base panels 1; adjacent side panels 2 may be interconnected by panels (8 and 9) which fold to form outwardly and inwardly projecting ribs respectively, or by panels (11) which form outwardly projecting ribs; the sides 2 may be upwardly and outwardly inclined, forming a nestable container.
