Abstract
1,004,101. Block-bottom bags. M. BERGHGRACHT. Nov. 23, 1961 [Dec. 3, 1960], No. 41989/61. Heading B8K. [Also in Division B5] The container of Fig. 1, with a square base 1' may be formed by folding along the lines a, b, c ... in the blank of Fig. 2 and bringing the margins e, f together. In the alternative blank of Fig. 3 the portions bonded by the lines b, c, d are re-entrant. Where these re-entrant portions extend for the full height of the bags their margins e, j may be joined to form four thicknesses or, alternatively, the two inner portions may be left unsecured so that the bag may be opened out in use to provide a larger volume adjacent the re-entrant portions. Alternatively the re-entrant portions may extend for only part of the height of the bag, so that the sealed zones have four thicknesses at the lower part of the bag and two thicknesses at the upper part.
