Abstract

1363355 Heat-insulating sheets DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 20 Jan 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 2864/72 Headings E1B and E1W [Also in Division F2] A heat-insulating sheet, particularly for use as a layer in a roof covering, comprises a substantially rigid polyurethane or phenol resin foam material formed into a sheet of substantial thickness and afterwards provided on each face with two sets of parallel straight grooves which cross each other at right angles, the groove depth being from 0.15 to 0.25 of the sheet thickness and the groove width being from 2-15 mm. The grooves in the two surfaces may be either opposite or offset from one another and are produced by milling to provide grooves of rectangular, wedge-shaped or semi-circular cross-section. A roof covering incorporating the sheet may comprise, from top to bottom, soft PVC foil, the foam plastics sheet, soft PVC foil, bitumenised roofing felt, and concrete surface. An alternative roof covering using bitumenised aluminium foil, perforated cardboard, and bitumen composition is also described.
