Abstract
1363354 Sealing of roofs M GERHAHER 19 Jan 1972 [25 Jan 1971] 2560/72 Headings E1S and EIW A roof comprises a load-bearing sub-structure 1 or 16, bricks, tiles or plates, e.g. 3 and 20, arranged in layer and glued together along their edges, and a water-tight and substantially vapour-tight covering 4 or 21. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, hollow bricks or tiles 3, with apertured lower faces, are arranged over a thermal insulation layer 2 and covered with a plastics layer 4, which can be spread, or stuck in place. The lining can be continued over a corner using apertured corner members, Fig. 5, not shown. The members 3 can be secured by adhesive to sub-structure 1, the adhesive being arranged in strips between the apertures. In the embodiment of Fig. 2, "vapour pressure equalisation layer" 17 and a vapour barrier 18 are added. An additional layer 17 may be placed between the thermal insulation layer 19 and tiles or bricks 20. Plates of plastics or light-weight concrete may re-place the bricks or tiles.
