Abstract

1,041,844. Laminates. AMALGAMATED ROADSTONE CORPORATION Ltd. July 3, 1964 [July 2, 1963], No. 26191/63. Heading B5N. A constructional member comprises first and second opposed surfaces formed by two or more spaced sheets of glass fibre cloth impregnated with a thermosetting or catalytically hardening resin, the space between the sheets being filled by adjacent and alternating strips and webs, the strips being of foamed impermeable synthetic plastics material having a plurality of closed cells and being partially impregnated with the said resin and the webs being of glass fibre cloth either integral with or connected to the glass fibre cloth forming the said surfaces, the said webs being connected to the said resin and thereby bonded to the adjacent strips. Polyvinyl chloride is the specified cellular material and the specified impregnant is a polyester. Cork tiles or vinyl tiles or sheets may be bonded to one of the outer surfaces.
