Abstract

1362747 Tube rolling mills ELEKTROSTALSKY ZAVOD TYAZHELOGO MASHINOSTROENIA 28 June 1972 [28 June 1971] 30341/72 Heading B3M The stand of a tube cold rolling mill is provided with a base 1, posts 4, and a vertically adjustable housing top 5 supported by the posts. The base and top carry rails 6 and 7 for a reciprocatable roll assembly 2. The housing top is vertically adjusted to vary the spacing of the rolls 15 of the assembly, for rolling tubes of different diameter. To adjust the top, screw-operated wedges 11 at each end of the stand are moved axially. This changes the vertical position of the top relative to bars 8 which extend transversely of the stand through the posts 4. Springs 14 urge the top upwardly against the bars.
