Abstract

136,095. Beach, C. P. March 15, 1919. Rivet &c. extractors.- A screw appliance simultaneously grasps a wheel to be removed and exerts pressure on the end of the shaft in which it is mounted. In a base 10 are pivoted two or more claw members in the form of bent levers 15 which engage with the nut 18 so that they tend to close in on the gear 30 when the screw presses against the end of the shaft. A locking-device is provided for clamping the base 10 on the nut 18 after the appliance has been adjusted to the work.
