439,214. Wheel - removing tools SCHREM, A., Giengen-on-Brent, W³rtemberg Germany. Sept. 26, 1934, No. 27574. Con vention date, Sept. 26, 1933. [Class 61 (iii)] In a device for extraoting wheel hubs of the type in which the studs connecting the wheel to the hub are gripped by the device during extraction, draw rods 8 are connected to the body of the jack so as to be circumferentially displaceable around it. The rods 8 are jointed as by a ball 7 and socket 4 to gripping beads engaging the wheel fastening nuts 6. The socket elements 4 are screw threaded internally to engage externallv screw-threaded members 5, which have an aperture for the screwed studs 3. A stepped cylinder 23 is provided with a spring pressed piston 17 carried by screwed adjusting members 19, 20. The stepped cylinder has a narrow part 16 in which is a piston 21 carried by a rod 22 screwed through the base of the cylinder. By rotating the rod 22 the cylinder is forced back over the piston 17 carrying with it a circular disc 10. The draw rods 8 are removably pivoted to sliding pieces 9 arranged behind the disc 10 and grip by means of projections 11.
