[Classes 17 (ii) and 17 (iii).] Means for attaching a top piece 7 to a heel comprise a threaded member 6 connected to the top piece 7, and adapted to engage an internally threaded socket member 5 slidable in a metal casing 1 under the action of a spring 10 secured at one end to the casing 1 and at the other end to a pin 15 fixed in the socket member 5 and movable in a bayonet slot 16. To attach the top piece 7, the member 6 is screwed into the socket member 5 until the pin 15 abuts against a shoulder 17 of the slot 16, as shown in Fig. 1, and the top piece 7 is then rotated slightly so that the pin 15 is drawn into the position shown in Fig. 2, pins 18 provided on the top piece 7 at the same time engaging recesses in the heel.
