Abstract

243,569. Mobbs & Lewis, Ltd., and Mobbs, H. W. Jan. 31, 1925. Lasts.-Relates to lasts of the kind having a hingedly connected fore part and heel part and a removable instep block, and consists in constructing the instep block and hinge plate so that they engage to hold the parts in extended condition. The fore part 1 is pivoted to a plate 4 rigidly secured to the heel part 2. A nose 4a on the plate is slotted or undercut to engage a member 12 secured to the instep block 10. The block may be held in position by a split-pin 17, and may be connected with the heel part by a cord 18. A stud 20 guides the instep block as it is slid into place. The member 12 may be wedgeshaped to hold the block tightly down on to the other parts. The plate 4 may have a nose 4<a> at the rear end also, and may be rigid with the fore part instead of with the heel part..
