356,712. Tools for removing wheels from shafts. ANDREWS, B. R. K., 22, Parry Street, Hamilton, New South Wales, Australia. June 5, 1930, No. 17346. Convention date, June 10, 1929. [Class 61 (iii).] Screw, bolt, &c. extractors.-A wheel remover tool comprises a push screw 6 working through a yoke 10, and adjustable V-notched knife-edged jaws 13 resiliently connected to the yoke and arranged at rightangles to the axis of the push screw to engage hub threads 9. The resilient connection between the yoke 10 and jaw plates 13, as shown, is effected by links 11 and studs 12 screwed into the plates, but suspension links or chains with take-up means may be substituted; similar jaw plates 16 are also carried by the studs 12 to keep the tool in axial alignment with the wheel and provide a double grip on the hub thread. The plates 13 are connected and tightened by vice bolts 15, although, other means such as wedge, lever or ramped ring fitting may be provided. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) includes also a floating plunger 19 in the pusher bolt 6, Fig. 5 (Cancelled), to enable the tool to be tapped without injuring its parts. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
