Abstract

242,747. Lake, A. E. Oct. 7, 1924. Removing wheels from shafts.-A device for removing wheels from shafts comprises a beam B with a central screw A and slots to receive arms C which can be attached at varying distances from the screw, the arms being provided with detachable jaws E. The jaws E are prevented from rotating round their securing bolts by a projecting part which abuts against the arm C. In a modification the arms C, Fig. 7, are provided with hooks C<2> fitting over a bevelled edge B<3> of the beam while a clip G is forced by a screw H to engage the bevelled edge B<4> of the beam to hold the arms rigid. When the device is used for purposes such as the removal cf drums of motor wheels from their axles, a jaw, formed with slots E<2>, Fig. 9, to pass over bolts, is employed.
