Abstract

600,348. Garden implements. SMITH, C. C. May 15, 1946, No. 14608. [Class 6(ii)] The handle is adjustably pivoted to the blade or the like. Pins 11 on the handle may be sprung into either of a pair of holes in upstanding lugs 8, or wing nuts may engage the threaded ends of the pins. Strainers consisting of toggle-like links, or a cammed lever-end may be used either for ensuring retention or effecting release. The tool-head is formed with a sharpened edge 9, and at the other end with a pair of jaws 10 for pressing the soil about the stem of a plant.
