Abstract

1360245 Photo-sensitive photo-lithographic materials; printing plates FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 23 Sept 1971 [24 Sept 1970] 44515/71 Headings G2C and G2M A lithographic printing plate is made by imagewise exposure, development and fixing of a photo-sensitive plate having an aluminium support having a porous oxide layer formed by anodization. The pores of said oxide layer containing photo-sensitive silver halide in such amount that after development and fixing the silver image portions contain more than 1À2g/m<SP>2</SP> of silver. The required quantity of silver halide is formed in the pores by repeated dipping of the plate in alternate solutions of silver nitrate and alkali-metal halide, and by using solutions of as high a concentration as possible. The silver image obtained after development may be treated with a silver salt intensifier and/or the silver image may be converted to silver iodide (using FeCl 3 /KI solution) and a dye absorbed thereon, such as Phenosafranine, Malachite Green,' Pinalcryptol Green or Methyl Violet.
