Abstract

135,972. Hall, S. Z., and Marshall, H. J. Dec. 16, 1918. Check flap valves. - An elastic check valve, particularly applicable for use on internal-combustion engines, pumps, air-compressors, &c., and of the type comprising a circular flap restrained at one end, has a guard member with a boss-like central portion of a dished shape which beds upon the valve seat. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a pair of concentric valve member a, a is employed each secured at one end to the seat b by a pair or pins. The central dished part f of the guard e is fixed to the seat by a bolt f<1>, and one of the web-like arms is dished and adapted to be pinned to the seat to prevent rotation of the guard.
