Abstract
1359659 Heat exchangers ASSOCIATED ENG Ltd 16 Sept 1971 [18 Sept 1970] 44687/70 Heading F4S Stacked wall-forming members 10 and heatconducting plate members 12 define a fluid flow channel in a heat exchanger, the plate members 12 being made of a ceramic material (e.g. silicon nitride) and having portions thereof (e.g. slats 13, or louvres 20, Fig. 5) extending into the channel, and said plate members also having parts thereof in contact with another fluid outside said channel. As shown in Fig. 1, said other fluid flows in a further channel defined by the stacked members 10 and 12. The members 10 and 12 may be made of the same or dissimilar materials. Alternatively a wall member 10 and plate member 12 may be integrally formed as a one-piece element, a plurality of these elements constituting the heat exchanger.
