1359534 Securing device for fabric wall coverings M ASSAEL 29 Sept 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 45357/71 Heading E1W A tapestry is fixed in a taut condition to a surface (e.g. a wall or ceiling) by devices arranged along each edge of the surface. Each device comprises a bar 1 secured to an edge of the surface, a strip 2 pivoted thereto and having hooks or pins 8 (or 46, Fig. 10) engaging the tapestry, interengaging members for holding the strip 2 in a closed position either in a face-to-face relation with the bar, Figs. 1 and 10, or co-planar with the bar, Fig. 6, and abutment means, e.g. 36, 37 for limiting the pivotal movement of the strips 2. The interengaging members may be ribs and grooves 10-13, Fig. 1; 34, 35, Fig. 6, or a flexible member 47 engaging a shoulder 48, Fig. 10. The strip 2 may be pivoted to the bar 1 by an integral, flexible strip, by a hinge 4 or by interengaging tongues and slots Fig. 5 (not shown) and Figs. 6 and 10. A plurality of strips 2e may be pivoted either to a single bar le or to a number of separate bars and a flexible strip 42 having teeth 46 may be mounted on top of the strips 2e. A trim member 14 engages a recess 18 in the strip 2 in the closed position. A lining fabric 20e may be hung from the lower edge of the bar 1. The tapestry may be secured in the corners either by the flexible strip 42, which may be bent around the corner, or by a triangular plate, Figs. 3 and 4, (not shown) having teeth on one face and pivoted along a diagonal edge to a member secured to the wall.
