Abstract

1,236,537. Wall facings. BOSTADSFORSKNING A.B. 13 March, 1970, No. 12313/70. Heading E1B. Interlocking overlapping wall facing tiles 2 are secured to horizontally spaced channel section vertical strips 10 by diverging grooves 3 engaging complementary hooks 14 in the flanges 13 of the strip, pressing down of the tiles on the hooks causing resilient deformation of the hook from the obtuse, angle α shown for lower tile in Fig. 3 towards a right angle shown for upper tile in figure 3, so that the resiliency of the strip presses the tile towards the wall and prevents rattling thereof. The flanges 13 may initially, be at acute angles to the web 11 but this makes fixing of the web to the wall by nails 12 more difficult. The hooks may start immediately at the edge of the web if the tiles need to be closer to the wall or the webs 11 may be secured in spaced relation to the wall if the spacing needs to be larger. The strips may be cut from metal strip and then bent to shape or moulded from glass fibre reinforced plastics.
