834,726. Panel ceilings; panels for suspended ceilings. FRENGER HOLDINGS (AUSTRALIA) PTY Ltd., and GOYER, G. J. Dec. 19, 1957 [Jan. 7, 1957; Feb. 11, 1957], No. 39534/57. Classes 20(4) and 87(1) Ceiling panels 6...6D preferably of sheet metal each having working flanges 7 and non-working flanges 8 are connected by the flanges 7 to bearers 15 which are inflexible in their vertical planes and anchorage hooks 20 side wardly, offset from and connected to the bearers 15 engage the flanges 8 restraining their movement in the direction of their length. The flanges 7 have contact lands 9, oblique faces 10 and support shoulders 11 and the flanges 8 have keeper slots 13 which are engaged by the anchorage hooks 20. The bearers 15 of sheet metal ribbon and the like, extend the full length of the area to be panelled and are laterally flexible so that they can accommodate themselves to the positions of the working flanges to obviate slight misalignment, and are suspended from a rigid overhead structure by hangers 16. Downwardly projecting tongues 19 are formed with a bulge 21 to provide seatings for the shoulders 11 to enable the flanges 7 to be secured thereto with a snap-fitting manner. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the bearers may be made of metal tubing to which the working flanges are fastened by clips and to which anchorage members are attached.
