Abstract
776,607. Clip fastenings. MICKLETHWAITE, F. April 22, 1955 [April 22, 1954; Dec. 29, 1954], Nos. 11650/54 and 37593/54. Class 44. [Also in Group X] Clips 10a, which are used to connect ceiling boards 9 to a floor structure, clasp the lower ends of troughs 1b in the structure and carry U- shaped stirrups 12 which are connected to beams 11 to which the boards 9 are secured. In a modification, Figs. 6, 7, tongues 16 are cut out of the clips 10a for direct engagement with the ends of the beams, or ceiling boards. In a further modification the sides of the clips 10a have integral extensions which are doubled down so that their ends abut against the top surface of the beams. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 10 the ceiling 'boards are supported upon the flanges of T-section beams 19 which are suspended by strips 20 from members 22 looped around the clips 10a. The adjacent lower faces of the troughs 1b can be joined by members which resiliently engage the respective sides of the troughs, the enclosed cavities formed in this way being used to accommodate, e.g., electric wires.
