Abstract

1357833 Valves TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 9 Oct 1972 [2 Dec 1971] 46457/72 Heading F2V A fuel dispensing nozzle comprises the usual cut-off responsive to fuel surge about an aperture 18 with a corresponding lock-out assembly and means responsive to abnormally high pressure within the fuel tank which also actuates the lock-out assembly. A lock-out plunger 60 carrying the fulcrum of a control handle 32 is held in an operative position by a carriage 54 entering a recess 62 in the plunger. The vacuum signal is applied via conduit 38 to a diaphragm 42, and the pressure signal is applied via aperture 24, pipe 25 and conduit 71 to a diaphragm 68. Each diaphragm is connected via a slotted member 48, 72 respectively to the carriage 54. Independent movement of either member causing the carriage to unlock the plunger enables the fuel to be shut-off.
