Abstract

1488147 Dispensing liquids ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 19 Dec 1974 [2 Jan 1974] 54872/74 Heading A4T [Also in Division F2] In a vapour recovery system (used, for example in filling an automobile fuel tank) Fig. 1, a valve Fig. 2 has a housing with first and second through passages 40, 38, a restriction 56 in the second passage and a first movable member 54 dividing a cavity into sections 48, 50, there being communication means 58; 60 and 64 between the restriction and one cavity 48 and between passage 38 and the other cavity; a second movable member 84 being sealed to a valve element 66 which is fixed to the first member and seated in the first passage to be unseated in operation by differential pressure across the restriction. In the system the valve 18 receives fuel from a pump 34, and vapour via a line 26 from a vehicle tank, which is passed by a blower 35 via a condenser 30 to a fuel storage tank 12.
