Abstract

1357265 Spray producers KNAPSACK AG 11 April 1972 [29 April 1971] 16644/72 Heading B2F A spray nozzle for a spray drier comprises an upper part provided with a feed pipe 5 for the supply of a solution to be sprayed, and with an inner feed pipe 9 and outer feed pipes 13 for the supply of spray-inducing medium, e.g. steam or compressed air; a base plate 2 of hard elastic and rigid materials and an intermediate plate 3; a nozzle head consisting of a plurality of concentric ring-shaped members 16, 17, 18 and 19 detachably secured to the plate 3; a fastener 22 supporting the innermost ring-shaped member 19 by means of a bearing member 19; and an axial compensator 15 radially spaced from the inner pipe 9 and connected between the inner pipe 9 and the inlet end of a concentric pipe forming an annular channel 7 around the inner pipe for the supply of the solution to be sprayed. An angle α defined by the ring-shaped members of the nozzle head lies within the range 1‹ and 20‹, preferably 2‹ and 10‹, and is selected by selecting ring-shaped members of the appropriate length.
