Abstract

1356781 Coupling ships KINGSTON MARINE TECHNOLOGY Ltd 6 Sept 1971 [6 June 1970 13 Oct 1970] 27479/70 and 48547/70 Headings B7A B7S and B7V A linkage mountable between two vehicles such as a tug 10 and a barge 12 comprises a turntable 16 rotatable about a vertical axis to which is universally-jointed a bifurcated arm 14 (Fig. 1, 2) the limbs of which are hinged to the deck of the barge 12. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 4) the arm 14 is replaced by an L-shaped arm 46, 48 and a tie-bar 54. The turntable 16 may be locked against rotation for operation at sea. The linkage may be provided with energy absorption means to dampen shock loads.
