1354599 Valves ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 13 Aug 1971 [14 Aug 1970] 38051/71 Headings F2V and F2G A tyre inflating valve for vehicles fitted with compressed air brakes comprises a body having an inlet 12 for the compressed air, an outlet 5 to an air vessel, and a passage 2 controlled by a valve member 15 such that when a connection is made with the tyre by means of a tube (32) and nut (31) (Fig. 2, not shown) the valve member 15 is mechanically moved to open the passage 2 to admit air to the tyre and close a passage 9 to the air vessel. If, when the tyre is being filled, the pressure rises above a predetermined level, the valve member is moved further into the bore 9 by air pressure acting on its annular surface, so communicating a bore 29 with a bore 27 that the excessive pressure is relieved.
