Abstract

1433441 Valves P JOURNEE 7 March 1974 1974 [14 March 1973] 10290/74 Heading F2V A combined vacuum and pressure relief valve for a tank, circuit or expansion vessel 9 has a body 1 which seals at 10 on the vessel and is formed with a passage 14 so that when the body 1 is unscrewed from the vessel 9 the pressure therein is vented via passage 14 before the body is finally removed. A cap 2 is bayonet connected at 12 to the body and on removal is moved axially so that the projection 16 contacts the stem 22 to move valve disc 19 off sea] 21 to depressurize the vessel 9 before the cap can be rotated for final removal. Projection 16 and stem 22 are so formed that if the valve is inverted during assembly the cap cannot be fitted.
